New Beginnings

So here we go with this blogging stuff.. As most of you know, our precious little Brooklynn Reece Howard is due March the 8th. This little girl has given us a whole new meaning to life and commitment to each other. She is a true Godsend and we are so excited about starting this journey and next chapter of our life together.

I must say I have been very blessed to have such an easy pregnancy so far. With the exception of a kidney stone, I've had no sickness, no extreme weight gain, no crazy mood swings or cravings (except for 7 Layer dip and Mexican).. I know right, most of y'all are hating me big time right now. But seriously, it's been an amazing experience and I am loving every moment of it.

Everyone is so nice to you when you're pregnant, opening doors, smiling when they look at you, giving compliments, asking questions about the baby and sharing their own stories. Not to mention how great it is to be able to indulge in ice cream or eat an extra piece of pizza and not feel guilty. I can honestly say I understand how people miss being pregnant. I will miss having her with me 24/7, feeling her every move, telling her stories, sharing quiet time, dreaming of what she will look like, anticipating her interests, ambitions and personality traits. It is such a special bonding time for the two of us.

This is also a special time for Patrick and I to savor every moment of our marriage before expanding into a family. We have been taking advantage of such freedoms like going to the movies or out to eat on a whim, going to ball games, sleeping in, taking baths, reading, visiting friends, working out whenever we feel like it, not keeping a schedule and going on weekend getaways to just enjoy each other before the baby arrives.. we know once Brooklynn graces us with her presence, this will all change drastically!

That’s not to say we aren’t anxious for her to arrive, but we know she will come when she is good and plump and ready! The countdown is now at 5 and a half weeks and we all know how quickly time flies!
